Thanksgiving Inspiration

Yesterday morning, I looked into the mirror and was like–I AM A TURKEY! Yes I am tripping! But everyone woman has their moment when they think less of themself even if it’s for a hot minute. I was just feeling bloated and round. But then I thought about it again, I looked in the mirror and said- I LOOOOOK WAY TO GOOD TO BE SAYING THIS TO MYSELF! Okay that is so an inside joke between me and my sister but there is a song by Rah Digga Called I am conceited and we sing it often–mainly as a joke but honestly it’s not a sin to pump yourself up sometimes. I was having a it’s Thanksgiving or better yet FOOD SEASON where we eat everything set in front of us and afterwards we feel a certain way about ourselves. Well after having I am a turkey moment, I realized I am waaaaaaaaaaay to thebomb.com to think of myself that way, so of course I sat and thought about all things that make me who I am! And I started to feel PHENOMENAL! And of course I had to read this poem by Maya Angelou and share it with you. And it aint no cleashay, it’s the truth!

PHENOMENAL WOMAN by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size But when I start to tell them They think I’m telling lies. I say, It’s in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I’m a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size But when I start to tell them They think I’m telling lies. I say, It’s in the reach of my arms The span of my hips,
The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I’m a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. I say, It’s the fire in my eyes And the flash of my teeth,
The swing of my waist, And the joy in my feet. I’m a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me

Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can’t touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them, They say they still can’t see. I say It’s in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I’m a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.

Now you understand Just why my head’s not bowed. I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say, It’s in the click of my heels, The bend of my hair, The palm of my hand, The need of my care, ‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That’s me.

Yall better learn to appreciate who you are in life! And love yourself outside of your own flaws as you continue to grow and work on yourself!

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!   Talk to you guys on Monday.

Love yall!

Fabulously Yours,

K.Marie
